Following yesterday’s fire at our company, we would like to thank all emergency responders whose prompt, professional and committed action prevented a worse outcome.

Our particular thanks go to the Isselburg fire unit and all supporting fire services, aid organisations and authorities. These include the Anholt, Werth, Suderwick and Millingen fire units, the Bocholt fire service, Brandweer Gendringen, DRK Isselburg, Bocholt police, the City of Isselburg public order office, the District of Borken lower water authority, the Borken emergency control centre, the District of Borken and the deputy district fire chief. We also thank Strauch Agrarservice for its support.

We are immensely relieved that nobody was injured during the incident. That matters most.

Unfortunately, substantial property damage occurred. During the fire on the open area behind the foundry hall, two hazardous-material containers holding chemicals for core production were among the items affected. This resulted in significant flames and smoke. Work to repair the damage and address the aftermath is already well underway. Together, we are doing everything we can to restore full operations as quickly as possible.

We would also like to give special thanks to our employees. Their calm, disciplined and exemplary conduct during the evacuation made a substantial contribution to allowing emergency responders to concentrate fully on fighting the fire. We also thank our foundry management and shift supervisors for their professional support with the evacuation, checking that everyone was accounted for and assisting the fire service.

The solidarity, mutual support and willingness to help shown by everyone involved have deeply impressed us. We would like to express our sincere thanks for this.

Thank you to everyone who worked to protect our people and our company in this exceptional situation.

On Saturday, we will be leaving the office to join the event in the metalworking workshop at Berufskolleg Bocholt West. We look forward to meeting you in person. Whether you are interested in apprenticeships, technical insights or simply a good conversation, our stand is the place to visit.

You can meet a committed team who enjoy their work, gain insights into our occupations and receive honest answers to your questions — perhaps with a career tip or two along the way.

You will find us directly in the metalworking workshop in Block 800. To help you find us, here are the site map and the poster with all the information.

The foundry industry, a labour- and energy-intensive core sector of German industry, is changing. The German Foundry Congress provides a central platform for actively shaping that change. The German Foundry Association (BDG) brings the industry together to exchange experience and knowledge.
From 12 to 13 June 2025, Aachen became a meeting place for the foundry sector. Germany’s largest industry event provided space for new perspectives, intensive discussions and forward-looking cooperation. Foundries, suppliers, researchers, associations and policymakers took part.

On 1 February 2025, we attended the careers fair at Israel-von-Meckenem-Schule in Bocholt. Pupils and parents could find out about apprenticeships, work placements and opportunities for further school-based education. A total of 90 companies, schools and further education institutions presented their offers to visitors. We hope our appearance made a lasting impression on prospective apprentices.

On 21 November 2024, we took part in the Night of Apprenticeships for the first time. Fire bowls and an informal barbecue area welcomed numerous visitors to our company.

During a tour of our production departments, visitors gained a first-hand insight into our workplaces and saw how we work.

We enjoyed the event so much that we have decided to take part again in 2025.

To share a little of the atmosphere, here are some impressions from the evening. Perhaps you will join us next time.

On 8 November 2024, Isselguss GmbH held its long-service celebration. At Gaststätte Langenhorst, certificates and monetary gifts were presented for 25, 40 and even 50 years of service. In total, 725 years of service to the company were celebrated. Over a meal, guests looked back on their shared experiences at work.
